This is a secondary level English course that aims at developing the students´ listening, speaking, reading, writing and language communication skills, so that they can be competent communicators and demonstrate mastery of 21st century college and career skills and use the English language in social and professional environments.

5. Writing an Autobiography

6. Career Day ProjectThis lesson contains instructions and resources for students to explore the different career opportunities that may interest them in the near future. |
7. Unit 8.1: Analyzing Characters' DecisionsIn this unit, the student reads and analyzes the plots of short stories. In particular, he/she looks at moments in the stories where characters make important decisions that move the plot of the story. |
8. Unit 8.2 Memoirs and Transformative DecisionsThis lesson contains excerpts of a variety of memoirs, as well as, worksheets and related activities. |

11. International Peace DayThis lesson contains a video on International Peace Day and its effort to unite the world towards the promotion of peace. Students choose the activity they will work with to create awareness of this important effort. |
12. Storytelling Week October 5-9Storytelling includes various methods storytellers can use. This lesson explores storytelling through the power of images. Students will learn about fun ways to tell a story and will engage in a National Geographic activity. |
13. 5 Paragraph EssayThis lesson contains the introduction to the basic format of the five paragraph essay and its definitions. Students will be able to format and compose a five paragraph with coherence. |
14. Time for Kids MagazineThis lesson contains the Time for Kids Magazine biweekly issues. Students will have access to the issues and keep up to date with current events. |
15. GratitudeThis lesson contains activities that help students practice an attitude of gratitude.in their daily lives. |
16. Where Do Words Come From?This lesson explains what etymology is and a brief history of words. Students will examine the different ways words of the English language are created and how others become obsolete. |
17. Anne Frank The Diary of a Young GirlThis lesson contains an analysis, vocabulary, and discussion questions that will help guide your reading. |
18. Unit 8.4: Personal Essays and BeliefsIn this lesson, students learns to craft a personal essay. He/she will find samples of personal essays culturally connected with Latino Authors. It includes lessons, videos, and worksheet that provide practice on content and structure. |
19. Earth Day 2021: Restore Our EarthThis lesson explains simple ways we can help restore our Earth. It contains video projects that students can do to help contribute to save our Planet. |
