This course aims at developing students' listening, speaking, reading, writing, and language communication skills, so that they can be competent communicators and master the 21st college and career skills and use the English language in social and professional environments.

This lesson contains the list of words students are expected to master in seventh grade in order to increase vocabulary and reading fluency. |
4. English Portfolio
Aug 22
This lesson contains the instructions on how you will organize your class portfolio. The purpose of a portfolio is for students to document their progress and achievements as they create their best work. A portfolio allows students to reflect on what they've accomplished during the year. |
5. Growth Mindsetthis lesson contains resources that will help students develop a growth mindset. The resources presented are integrated with the language arts skills of the grade level. |
6. Career DayThis lesson contains instructions on Career Day Project and resources that allow students to explore the different career opportunities in today's workplace. |
7. Acrostic Autobiography

An acrostic is a poem or other form of writing in which the first letter syllable or word of each line spells out a word or message. Students will use letters of their name to write an autobiography in the form of an acrostic. |
8. Unit 7.1: Being Puerto Rican through FolktalesIn this unit, the student reflects on what it means to be Puerto Rican through discussion and writing personal narratives and folktales. 9. International Reading and Writing CelebrationThis lesson contains the activities students will work with during "Storytelling Week". |
10. World Change-MakersThis lesson contains texts, interesting facts, reading worksheets, and other activities about famous leaders and change-makers in the world. |
11. WritingThis lesson contains the six traits of writing, a review of the writing process, and the conventions of writing. |
12. International Peace DayThis lesson contains a presentation on the role of Desmond Tutu towards non-violence and peace and the meaning of Ubuntu. Students complete the activity included in the lesson. |
13. What is a Book Talk!This lesson explains what a Book talk is and gives students tips on how to present one. |
14. Parts of SpeechThis lesson contains the parts of speech and its usage. |
15. Time for Kids MagazineThis lesson contains the Time for Kids Magazine. Issues will be added biweekly so students will have access to the latest information. |
16. GratitudeThis lesson contains different writing activities that allow students to reflect on what gratitude is and help them have an attitude of gratitude. |
17. The Gift of the MagiThis lesson contains the story, " The Gift of the Magi" by O'Henry and the literature unit. |
18. 7.3: Poetry: My IdentityIn this lesson, students reflect upon his/her own identity and develops an understanding of who he/she is in context to Puerto Rico. The student reads different poetry to appreciate their messages and understand their use of poetic devices. The student writes and performs a poem that celebrates his/her own personal identity. He/she increases reading and speaking fluency, as well as quality and quantity of writing poems and reciting poetry. |
19. Unit 7.4: Author's PurposeThis lesson contains the studies of the four types of author’s writing purpose; to entertain, to persuade, to inform, and to teach. Students can find samples of the different writing writings ,mini lessons, and practice sheets, in order to produce four pieces of writing that exemplify each one. |
20. Earth Day 2021: Restore Our EarthThis lesson helps students understand how simple modifications to daily activities can help restore our Earth. |
21. World Heritage SitesThis lesson contains information on UNESCO World Heritage sites and why they are considered World Heritage. |
22. GenreThis lesson contains the different literary genres and sub genres. Understanding genres will help you form expectations about a piece of work you are reading. |
